FUND RAISING -
Thank you for all who chose the NATCA Charitable Foundation as their 'charity
of choice' - we hope to be able to count on your support again in the future!
Federal Employees now have three ways to make automatic monthly donations:
Payroll Deduction (same method as PAC donations); CFC - Combined Federal
Campaign; or Employee Express.
-
-
Payroll Deduction. This is the
easiest way to make automatic donations from each pay period. Whether $5 or
$75, all donations and donors are reported to the NCF via OPM monthly reports.
Donors will receive tax receipts at the end of the year as a reminder for the
tax filing purposes. This method is an email or fax away - contact us and we
will send you the necessary form to detail your payroll deduction preference.
-
The Combined Federal Campaign drive
is held each Fall. This year we will be listed in the "North Texas" campaign.
Choose this easy method of donation through CFC if you work and reside in
North Texas. The more people that choose the NCF as their preferred charity
the more of the undesignated funds will be allocated to NCF. Be sure to contact us if you need more information
about how you can donate to the NATCA Charitable Foundation through CFC.
Link to CFC Page.
-
Federal Employees now can donate directly to NCF via their
Employee Express account. This allows online
access to donate monthly but due to the limitations of the EE the NATCA
Charitable Foundation only receives the amount - your name is not disclosed.

School Programs
-
NATCAvist volunteers are gathering
again at cities across the country to coordinate the shopping for school
supplies. Every possible supply is sought out and finding the best sale prices
are our
goal. Special thanks to Mike Palumbo (DAL) who managed to find the most
sales across the DFW metroplex. Supplies of pencils, crayons, markers, paper,
notebooks, glue, and even backpacks will be purchased and delivered to
needy students. Last year the children were thrilled with their
supplies but especially excited to have a brand new backpack they could
call their own. This worthwhile program receives such wonderful thanks and
is one of many niches NCF likes to fill in our search for projects that
make a difference in our communities. Many thanks to all who helped with
shopping, delivery, and especially with donated dollars to make this
program possible!.

Tournament of Skill - Our 2008 charity event was held in conjunction with the Communicating for Safety

conjunction with the NATCA in Washington event, was a HUGE success. Over 125
auction items were available for bidding and attendees each received a free

HURRICANE RELIEF REPORT
- Special Thanks to NATCAvists for
the heartwarming donations and time to help with our Katrina Relief Programs. NATCA Charitable Foundation
has a number of programs completed and is planning more ways to help over the
upcoming months. We recently purchased back packs and all the necessary school
supplies for the children that have relocated to our cities. Packs were stuffed
and labeled according to age and distributed to the children of families
evacuated from New Orleans. Meacham Field terminal is assisting over 130
evacuees, donations of clothes were received and a local dry cleaner donated
services. NATCA Charitable Foundation provided laundry bags for each of the
families. In the Houston area we provided 'Apartment Starter Kits' to families
moving from temporary shelters into local apartments. Kits contained a variety
of cleaning supplies, linens, and basics for a kitchen set-up. We also donated
bottled water to the Houston area FEMA offices for the many evacuees who were
having to wait hours in line to speak with an officer. Water and apples were
both passed out to those waiting in the heat as the lines wrapped around the
building and wound through the parking lot. We will continue to monitor and assess needs. Water, food, work and
school uniforms, transportation and housing needs - the needs list is very large
and we are committed to helping those who have suffered in this tragedy.
